In 1988, eight year old Nicole Adams was admitted to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City Missouri for routine skin graft surgery. During the procedure, Nicole was given an excessive amount of saline solution which ultimately caused her to suffer permanent blindness and brain damage.
