The question presented by this appeal is whether respondent, a tenant in common with petitioner, has ownership of the subject property by reason of the application of the doctrine of adverse possession. Petitioner petitioned the trial court for partition of the subject property pursuant to N.C. Gen.Stat. § 46-3 (1984).
