James R. Small (Small) brought this products liability action against the seller of a log skidder, Pioneer Machinery, Inc. (Pioneer), and the manufacturer of the skidder, Timberjack, Inc. (Timberjack), alleging a design defect in the log skidder. The jury returned a verdict in favor of Small in the amount of $500,000 on theories of strict liability and breach of implied warranty.
