The defendants, Michael Cowels and Michael Mims, were tried together before a jury in the Superior Court and found guilty of murder in the first degree by reason of extreme atrocity or cruelty. Represented by new counsel on appeal, both defendants argue that the judge should have allowed their respective motions for a required finding of not guilty. We conclude that the Commonwealth's evidence was sufficient to warrant the defendants' convictions of murder...
