The plaintiffs are Arkansas state troopers who are seeking compensation for unpaid overtime. They sued, alleging that the state of Arkansas violated the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Relying on Seminole Tribe of Florida v. Florida, ___ U.S. ___, 116 S.Ct. 1114, 134 L.Ed.2d 252 (1996), the district court dismissed the troopers' case for lack of subject matter jurisdiction.
