On February 26, 1996 petitioner Gary Gambuti, in his capacity as Chief Executive Officer of St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital, filed a petition in the Supreme Court, New York County, seeking the appointment of a guardian for Madeline Bowser, an allegedly incapacitated person, pursuant to article 81 of the Mental Hygiene Law.
