Jackson filed a complaint against Garvey Elevators, Inc., (Garvey) before the Kansas Human Rights Commission (Commission) pursuant to the Kansas Acts Against Discrimination, K.S.A. 44-1001 et seq. Jackson, an African-American, alleges that because of his race he was subjected to unlawful employment practices prohibited under K.S.A. 44-1009(a)(1).
