Igor Bereza does not want to return to Ukraine,1 his home country. He concedes that he is deportable, he overstayed his visitor's visa, but seeks asylum in the United States on the grounds that he was persecuted when he lived in Ukraine and has a well-founded fear that he will be persecuted if he is forced to return.
