In this medical malpractice action, plaintiff claimed that the defendant doctors caused her injury in that their failure to properly diagnose and treat a heart condition required her to undergo surgery for a mitral valve replacement. There was conflicting expert testimony as to whether, by the dates of the alleged negligence, plaintiff's condition was such that the surgery was necessary regardless of defendants' conduct.
