The State's evidence tended to show the following: On 14 April 1993, the victim worked the late shift at Bennigan's Restaurant in Greensboro and left the restaurant at approximately 2:30 a.m. on 15 April 1993. While stopped at a traffic light on South Chapman Street, a speeding vehicle approached from the rear and collided with her vehicle.
