Benny Wicks, no stranger to the criminal justice system, raises in this appeal a potpourri of challenges to the federal "Three Strikes" statute, 18 U.S.C. § 3559(c), under which Congress has prescribed a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment for certain recidivist "violent felons."
