Lawrence Schneider was convicted on multiple counts of mail and wire fraud and now appeals, presenting two difficult issues. One concerns the district court's refusal to allow Schneider's expert medical testimony proffered as pertinent to his state of mind; the other relates to the denial of Schneider's new trial motion based on jury-questionnaire information about one of the jurors.
