Defendant Eric Wicklund appeals his conviction by a jury of using interstate facilities for the commission of murder-for-hire, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1958. The single issue on appeal is the proper construction of § 1958(a) and whether the phrase "as consideration for the receipt of, or as consideration for a promise or agreement to pay, anything of pecuniary value" requires consideration in the contractual sense — which...
