On December 5, 1987, plaintiff Rebecca Ledwith, living at the time with plaintiff Brian Margolin in Oregon, where they both were attending community college, was burned when, while attempting to light a gas lantern, concededly over 10 years old, the lantern exploded, injuring both Ledwith and Margolin. The couple had allegedly purchased the lantern, manufactured by defendant, Sears, Roebuck and Company...
