In a shake-up at its Batesville, Arkansas plant, Gencorp Inc. discharged three managers and offered transfers to three others, including Batesville's quality manager, Lucille P. Gartman. Gartman rejected the offer and resigned, and then brought suit against Gencorp under 42 U.S.C. §§ 2000e to 2000e-17 (1994) (Title VII), claiming she had been constructively discharged because of her gender....
