Following a jury trial in March 1995, defendant Marquis Robinson was found guilty of attempt (armed robbery) (720 ILCS 5/8-4, 18-2 (West 1994)); he was acquitted of first degree murder (720 ILCS 5/9-1 (West 1994)). In July 1995, he was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment. He now appeals, arguing (1) the trial court erred in refusing to suppress his confession; (2) he was not proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt...
