Dr. Thomas R. Dempsey appeals from a judgment based upon a jury verdict in favor of James Phelps and his wife Cynthia Phelps, as the parents of James Phelps, Jr. The Phelpses alleged that Dr. Dempsey had failed to provide proper treatment for their son following surgery to correct a clubfoot condition. Following Dr. Dempsey's treatment, portions of the son's foot had to be amputated. The jury returned a verdict of $270,000, and the trial court entered...
