PER CURIAM.

Because the record does not contain substantial competent evidence supporting the trial court's conclusion that the ex-wife is in need of an alimony award and that the ex-husband has the ability to pay such an award, we reverse that portion of the Final Judgment of Dissolution of Marriage awarding permanent periodic alimony to the ex-wife.
