Joseph Mavros was charged by amended complaint in the Hamilton City Court with five misdemeanor counts; including assault, domestic abuse, reckless driving, and improper license plates, on March 20, 1996. He was convicted of reckless driving and two counts of assault. Mavros appealed this determination to the Twenty-First Judicial District Court, Ravalli County.
