On August 14, 1997, petitioner Eldon Huffine (Huffine) filed herein a pro se petition for writ of habeas corpus, together with a writ of error, arguing that his sentence for contempt violates Montana and constitutional law. On August 26, 1997, this Court granted Huffine's petition for writ of habeas corpus and ordered his immediate release from confinement in the Park County jail.
