Defendant, Patricia Van Winkle, was indicted on August 8, 1991 for second degree murder in the death of her twelve-year-old son, Patrick. After a jury trial, Van Winkle was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to serve twenty-one years in prison. On review, this court affirmed the conviction and sentence in State v.
