On April 13, 1995, defendant, Eric Roberson, was charged with the offense of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver 15 to 100 grams of a substance containing cocaine in violation of section 401(a)(2)(A) of the Illinois Controlled Substances Act. 720 ILCS 570/401(a)(2)(A) (West 1994). Defendant was tried before a jury on August 22, 1995, and convicted. He was sentenced to a term of eight years...
