WILLIAMS, Judge.

The defendant, Robert Paul Jones, was convicted by a Franklin Parish jury of simple escape, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:110(A). Thereafter, the state filed a bill of information pursuant to LSA-R.S. 15:529.1, the habitual offender law, seeking to have defendant adjudicated a fourth felony offender. After a hearing, the trial court adjudicated defendant a fourth felony habitual offender with a prior crime of violence and sentenced him to serve life...
