YAÑEZ, Justice.

By two separate indictments appellant Oscar Cantu was charged with the offense of murder in cause number CR-1922-92-D, and with two counts of aggravated assault of a police officer in cause number CR-1915-92-D. All charges against appellant were consolidated into a single trial. After a jury found appellant guilty of murder in the first cause, and of both counts of aggravated assault in the second, it sentenced him to seventy...
