Appellant entered a plea of not guilty to possession of less than twenty-eight grams of cocaine. TEX. HEALTH & SAFETY CODE ANN. § 481.115 (Vernon 1992).1 The jury found appellant guilty and the trial court assessed punishment at imprisonment for seven years in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
