Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Cook County, defendant, Antonio Lowery, was convicted of first degree murder based on the commission of a felony (720 ILCS 5/9-1(a)(3) (West 1992)), attempted armed robbery (720 ILCS 5/18-1 (West 1992)) and two counts of armed robbery (720 ILCS 5/18-2 (West 1992)).
