On August 31, 1993 an 18-wheeler tractor trailer operated by Roosevelt Samuels was involved in a collision with a Mazda 626 passenger vehicle driven by the plaintiff, James Pear. Pear had three guest passengers: Patrick Neale, Richard Constans and Stephen Thompson. Pear and his passengers were injured.
