OPINION

PEAY, Judge.

The defendant was indicted on September 21, 1994, for the second-degree murder of Shirlene Miller. After five days of trial, a jury convicted him of the indicted offense. A sentencing hearing was held, and the defendant was sentenced to twenty-five years in the Tennessee Department of Correction.
