On March 12, 1992, the Wagon Wheel Bar was robbed and the bartender, Howard Gibbons, was found dead after being stabbed in the back. Preliminary police investigations led police officers Donald Dibble ("Dibble") and Steven Scholl ("Scholl") to suspect the involvement of appellant Michael Joseph Silva ("Silva") and Brian Loehr ("Loehr").
