Julie Terry was injured and Johnny Kriewitz's son was killed in a boating accident on June 25, 1993 at Smithville Lake. Terry and Kriewitz filed suit against the driver of the boat, Steven McIntosh, the Missouri State Water Patrol and Clay County.
