The defendant, Leonard Carter, was charged by bill of information with distribution of marijuana, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966(A)(1). After a jury trial, the defendant was convicted as charged and sentenced to serve twenty years at hard labor. The defendant appeals, urging that the evidence is insufficient to support a conviction of distribution of marijuana and that the sentence is excessive. We affirm the defendant's conviction.
