This race discrimination case started out in state court over two years ago. After that much time, this appeal should be about the merits of the plaintiffs' lawsuit, and the litigation process should be winding to a close. Unfortunately, this appeal has nothing to do with the merits of the plaintiffs' lawsuit, which has yet to be tried. Instead, this appeal involves these three preliminary issues: (1) whether the district court had removal jurisdiction...
