Defendant Eddie S. Castleberry was convicted for violations of the Hobbs Act. On appeal, Castleberry's main contention is that under United States v. Lopez, 514 U.S. 549, 115 S.Ct. 1624, 131 L.Ed.2d 626 (1995), the Government must now show a substantial effect, instead of only a minimal effect, on interstate commerce to support a conviction under the Hobbs Act.
