INTRODUCTION

Michael Harwood was tried by a jury for murder after he killed John Burwell by shooting him twelve times in the neck. A jury convicted Harwood of the lesser-included offense of voluntary manslaughter and sentenced him to ten years probation and a fine of $10,000.
