In this case, Petitioner Kenneth Robinson was found guilty by a jury of possession of cocaine in violation of Maryland Code (1957, 1996 Repl.Vol., 1997 Supp.) Article 27, § 287(a).1 Following his arrest, Robinson ingested a substance alleged to be cocaine, and therefore it was not available for chemical analysis.
