This appeal raises for the first time in this circuit whether a conviction for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a felony not enumerated in La. R.S. 14:95.1(A), qualifies to interrupt the ten year cleansing period under La. R.S. 14:95.1(C). The other issue raised on this appeal is whether the state may use prior crimes evidence to suggest that the currently charged crime occurred and also to show the jury that at the time of the defendant...
