Appellant, Marvin Dewayne Smith, was found guilty at a trial before the court of the felony offense of carrying a handgun on premises licensed to sell alcohol. Tex. Penal Code § 46.02(c) (Vernon 1994).1 The court found two enhancement paragraphs to be true, and assessed punishment at twenty-five years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
