This case concerns a disputed mineral lease entered into by plaintiff, Asia Jane Harris Harvey, with defendant, Amoco Production Company, on August 20, 1977. The mineral lease affected a tract of land in Port Hudson, Louisiana, which had been purchased on June 20, 1951, by plaintiff and nine of her relatives (eight siblings and one nephew) from plaintiff's uncle, Willie Jackson, by Act of Cash Sale.
