HEDGES, Justice.

Appellant, Alfredo Valdez Valle, appeals his murder conviction for which he was sentenced to 50 years in prison. In one point of error, he complains that the trial court erred in admitting evidence of two prior misdemeanor convictions during the punishment phase because the State failed to give him the requested notice of its intent to introduce evidence of the convictions.
