In this tort action, it is alleged that an employer's intentional and arbitrary refusal to pay medical expenses condemned an injured worker to a life of severe and intractable pain. The employer filed exceptions of res judicata, no cause of action and no right of action, claiming that the Workers' Compensation Act provided the sole and exclusive remedy to the injured employee.
