Donald R. Helmstadter brought a defamation action against North American Biological, Inc. (NABI), a privately owned company doing business as Lincoln Plasma Center. Helmstadter alleged that NABI made false and inaccurate comments to other plasma centers concerning Helmstadter's eligibility to donate plasma.
