No. 96-952.

692 So.2d 626 (1997)

James R. SAVOIE, in his capacity as Sheriff of Cameron Parish, Plaintiff-Appellant, v. Joe Ann LABOVE, Defendant-Appellee.

Court of Appeal of Louisiana, Third Circuit.

March 5, 1997.

Attorney(s) appearing for the Case

William Martin Hudson, III, Patrick Bayard McIntire, Lafayette, for James R. Savoie.

Michael R. Garber, Lake Charles, for Joe Ann Labove.

Norbert C. Rayford, Baton Rouge, for Dept. of Labor.

Before YELVERTON, COOKS and DECUIR, JJ.

COOKS, Judge.

Sheriff James R. Savoie appeals the district court's judgment awarding Joe Ann Labove unemployment compensation benefits. The district court found the sheriff's termination of Ms. Labove unrelated to work misconduct because the termination occurred after the sheriff's re-election campaign and six weeks after the alleged misconduct.

For the following reasons, we affirm the judgment of the district court.
