Defendant, Mathaney B. Sampia, was charged by bill of information with driving while intoxicated, first offense, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:98. She pled not guilty and, after a bench trial, was found guilty as charged. She was sentenced to five months in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center and fined $250.00, plus costs.
