The sole issue on appeal is whether the Court of Appeals erred by dismissing this appeal because of plaintiff-appellant's failure to serve the clerk of the appellate court with a copy of the notice of appeal in compliance with Rule 5(a) of the Tennessee Rules of Appellate Procedure.
