JOHNSTONE, Justice.

A McCracken County jury found Appellant, Lamont Christopher Yates, guilty of murder and giving a false name to a police officer. The trial judge imposed the recommended sentences of life for the murder conviction and ninety (90) days and a fine of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250) for the conviction of giving a false name.
