This case requires us to construe the statute governing legislative continuances as it applies to an arbitration proceeding. See TEX. CIV. PRAC. & REM.CODE ANN. § 30.003 (West 1997). Appellant First Interstate Bank of Texas moved for confirmation of an arbitration award and Appellees John and Carol Burns opposed confirmation, alleging among other things that the award was void because the arbitrator had failed to grant them...
