After a jury trial, Rodney M. Frear was found guilty of third degree assault on a police officer, in violation of Neb.Rev.Stat. § 28-931 (Reissue 1995). Frear now appeals to this court, arguing that the district court erred in denying his motion to serve as co-counsel and in denying his proposed jury instructions concerning self-defense and concerning the use of force by a police officer when making an arrest.
