On September 17, 1988, appellant, Michael Hightower, raped Keisha Brown, a 14-year-old neighbor who lived across the street from appellant's home. Appellant lived with his wife, Jennifer, and his two small children. The victim frequently came to appellant's home to use his washing machine to do laundry, because the victim had no washer or dryer.
