Ricardo Lopez sued the Housing Authority of the City of Crystal City, Texas, alleging retaliatory discrimination in violation of the Whistleblower Act.1 The trial court rendered judgment on a jury verdict, awarding Mr. Lopez $28,549.57 in past lost earnings, $10,000 in future lost earning capacity, $25,000 for mental anguish, and $100,000 in exemplary damages.
