Defendant and plaintiff are both residents of Vermont. They planned a short car trip to Quebec, Canada and, while in Quebec, were involved in a single-car accident in an automobile owned and operated by defendant and registered in Vermont. Plaintiff was injured in the accident and claims defendant's negligence caused the accident and his injuries.
